Lt Col Andrew MacIntyre

Andy Mac Intyre is a qualified pilot with over thirty years service in the Irish Air Corps and the holder of a commercial pilot’s license. He has flown numerous aircraft both fixed and rotary wing. He holds a first class BSc honours degree in Management and Aeronautical studies from Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT) and an MA in International Relations from Dublin City University (DCU).
At present he lectures in DCU on the Aviation Management with Pilot Studies degree programme. He is also a graduate of the Military College Command and Staff Course (a senior management course for high ranking officers in the Irish Defence Forces) and has completed a specialised instructor’s course in the National Maritime College of Ireland. He has conducted two tours overseas, in Western Sahara and Lebanon in Senior Staff Officer Appointments.
While representing the Air Corps he was elected by European Staff Officers to be the Secretary of EURAC (European Air Chiefs Conference) for a period of three years. Responsibilities included organising and coordinating conferences across Europe for the leaders of most of the European National Air Forces. In his capacity as officer commanding the Air Corps College he was president of the pilot recruitment board.
Andy has vast experience in coaching cadets and has facilitated on our personal development training course for cadets.
