Peter Rhodes

Peter Rhodes is a Chartered Psychologist and author with over twenty five years experience as a trainer and practitioner in Business psychology. Peter has been involved in producing a wide range of focussed and customised assessment tools for a diverse range of organisations in both the public and private sectors. This has included the development of an online ‘Entrepreneurial Inventory’, funded by the Welsh Development Agency. This was launched by the Secretary of State for Wales at the National Eisteddfodd.
In the private sector he produced an on-line test for a US based multi-national telecoms organization to assess the likely effectiveness of service engineers. The success of this system led it to being extended to cover their graduate scheme. He has developed bespoke ability tests for a major retailer and a range of ‘situational judgement tests’. Assignments in 2012 have involved producing an on-line culture questionnaire to identify the ‘cultural fit’ of applicants applying to a successful and expanding Formula One racing team.
Peter’s interest in the psychology of aviation began during his undergraduate years, in a small applied psychology department, where he studied under Professor Hugh Murrell, the founder of ergonomics as a discipline. He has worked with Margie for a number of years, in Ireland and the Middle East on pilot selection projects. He co-founded Tests-Direct Ltd an organization which provides a powerful on-line assessment platform.
Before entering consultancy Peter was a University Lecturer for ten years. Peter is also an academic author in the field. His popular books continue to sell well. “Principles of Organisational Behaviour”, Rhodes, P and Fincham, R (Oxford University Press, 2005), will be in its fifth edition in 2013. This has become an established text in many Universities in the UK and globally for the last 25 years. Peter is also the author of the following titles currently in print: Succeed at Psychometric Tests series – Abstract and Diagrammatic Reasoning Rhodes, P (Hodder Headline, 2004) Succeed at Psychometric Tests – Critical Reasoning Rhodes, P.
